Alphason Designs is the UK’s largest manufacturer of AV furniture, leading the market with a comprehensive and award winning range of TV and equipment supports for the High Definition era. Being first with new features, first with cutting-edge designs and first with full BS accredited safety across the portfolio has seen Alphason grow from humble beginnings in Lancashire in 1985 to a class-leading global brand in the 21st century, owned by the Armour Group Plc.

The company was originally formed through a passion for high-performance products, crafting high-fidelity turntables, tonearms and loudspeakers.  Designed to satisfy the requirements of the most discerning audiophile, these products soon created a strong following among audio enthusiasts, culminating in the acclaimed 'Symphony' turntable.

To perform at its best, hi-fi requires a high-quality support system. Using the experience and precision engineering techniques honed in hi-fi development, Alphason created a range of dedicated hi-fi equipment supports and loudspeaker stands. True classics, these first designs are often acknowledged as key products in the formation of the dedicated audio and video furniture market as it is known today.

Within a few years Alphason had a wide portfolio of hi-fi and ‘TV’ furniture designs using an innovative tension rod system running through the centre of upright support poles. This held the structure very rigid and allowed a range of shelving materials such as texture-finished MDF, real-wood veneers and latterly toughened safety glass. Alphason’s classic AD-Series of audio-visual supports created the first ‘three-glass-shelves and four-poles’ design, which was to stand the test of time and become the ‘standard’ format of basic AV support furniture the world over.

By 2006 this outstanding level of success had attracted a great deal of attention and the company was purchased in this year by Armour Home – the UK’s largest and most respected consumer electronics distributor. The move has seen large scale investment in Alphason’s Lancashire facility and unrivalled investment in design, material technology, marketing and support for Alphason’s comprehensive portfolio of UK retailers.

In the last two years alone Alphason has won four major industry awards for product design and quality, and has a growing trophy cabinet of best-buy and five-star awards from TV and Home Cinema magazines. Not only does the latest Alphason range offer the widest choice of designs, sizes and finishes, including bespoke furniture quality real-wood veneers, every Alphason Designs product comes with easy-to-read instructions and a lifetime guarantee as standard.
